The poster 'Anvil' had an interesting take:

"1) if Perry really believed we Are on the gold, milk the V/C for whatever capital and file BK, cram down the note holders, and emerge private and reverse merge into new shell. Start fresh, new shareholders, producing mine. BK courts much prefer a management led reorganization plan than a creditor plan.

2) again, if on the gold, milk the V/C for capital, then with help of Tangiers, go private with a very low share price. Tangiers provides the funding to payoff the 3rd party notes and the paltry amount to buy in the commons."

Hope it isn't true but in this case Mr. Leopold really would look like a genius.
