I can see that kind of testing in the application that you cited. Keep in mind that barite from China is always a mixture of barite from different mines. A broker collects all of the barite and blends it at the port for shipping. The big three don't necessarily know which mines the barite comes from. All they care about is that it meets API specs once it is processed into powder. There are no API specs for the ore itself, only the finished product.
