I am a prop trader full time. I mostly day trade and don't hold most positions overnight . In my private account I trade some penny stocks when the situation presents itself. I came across SEGI one time when I was looking at the breakout boards awhile back. The way people were pumping the stock as a sure thing struck me the wrong way so it is one of the stocks I still follow now. To give you an example of what I traded on Friday was IVAN I bought at 1.60 and sold out at 2.05 only to watch It climb to over 3.00 which was a crazy move of 100% during the day . To catch these moves you have to be scanning the whole day and you can't buy somthing and just let it go without watching it, or you will lose a lot of money. For penny stocks you buy them knowing that there is a big probobly that you will lose your money just like a lotto ticket. It is fun to do from time to time but it is no way to make consistent returns. If you want to succeed and live the American dream you have to work real hard and put in the time even when you are not getting paid for it. People who are in unions tend to be lazy and don't have drive to really succeed. They just want their rights and stability in their mediocre lives. They pay other people to have a voice for them and try to get as much for the least effort as possible. To me this is the lazy way out of life. You won't get rich being in a union type job, you have to be happy with an average life. I strive for a better life than that and to have all the finer things in life. I love the freedom of being a full time trader as I set my own hours and my earning potential is not set for me in advance. I have the control of my own destiny.
Penny stocks is just for fun with no real expectations from it. Although I've had some huge winners with my biggest being over 4000% !
If you are putting in more than a few%'s of your trading capital , in my opinion you are making a deadly mistake!
Good luck
