More proof QEDN / Emerald can grow MJ and profit from it through servicing non profits in California

QEDN is not the only publicly traded company that intends to grow marijuana and profit as a service provider to California non profits.

On June 2nd ticker VRC-I announced: “Verde Science, Inc. Signs First Long Term Advisory Services Contract With Los Angeles County Medical Marijuana Dispensary; Unveils Additional Details About Its New Strategic Direction and Recurring Revenue Business Model”

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/verde-science-inc-signs-first-100000146.html

Let’s look at some excerpts from that PR and compare it to QEDN / Emerald’s presence in California.

“Verde will earn an ongoing monthly management fee based on costs savings generated from its advisory services as well as a royalty on all product sales. Los Angeles County is thought to be the largest medical marijuana market in the world.”

So, they are claiming they can collect management fees from advisory services as well as royalties on product sales. All from a California dispensary. Let’s see what else they have to say about servicing dispensaries in California.

“Verde will secure and service the financing with a royalty stream from product sales. Risk is mitigated as facilities will be designed and built to service existing patient demand supported by an existing revenue stream.

“Finally, access to our proprietary, highest quality marijuana genetic strains will provide dispensaries with the most requested varieties, which naturally command a price premium in the world's largest medical marijuana market. Also we cultivate pre-vegetated plants to maximize yield per square foot in the customer's flowering facility. The cost savings and technology which Verde is bringing to the market will by necessity be adopted by a large percentage of LA County dispensaries.”

So again they’re claiming, as a publicly traded company like QEDN, that they can provide services for profit to California non profit dispensaries as well as cultivate marijuana and collect a royalty fee from dispensaries for carrying their strains of marijuana.

Let’s compare that to QEDN’s official statement on Emerald.

“The Company's wholly owned subsidiary, Emerald Med Farms LLC, is a lease holder of land, and maintains operates equipment, facilities and employees to grow and harvest crops to be used in the medical marijuana industry. Emerald Med Farms will be a contractor and provide goods and services to the not-for-profit medical marijuana cooperative.”

Now, someone could say this other publicly traded company doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Let’s just take a look at the source of statements from their PR, Luis Bobadilla.

About Luis Bobadilla:

“After beginning his career at J.P. Morgan Chase on the Latin America Bond Desk as an analyst, Mr. Bobadilla launched several successful startup companies in multiple industries. He is the founder (2006) and manager of Sherman Oaks Holistic Oasis, a fully compliant medical marijuana collective that has successfully navigated all regulatory processes and operates in Los Angeles County. He was the managing partner and co-founder of Orange County Glass Works, LLC in 2002. Mr. Bobadilla also established and grew 'Pure Glass' as one of the premier smoking accessory brands in the U.S.”

Here’s the founder of a California collective sitting on the board of a publicly traded company that intends to cultivate marijuana and charge royalty fees to non profit dispensaries for that marijuana, as well as rendering additional services for profit to California dispensaries. Is that not essentially the same thing that QEDN says Emerald will be doing?

Mr. Bobadilla isn’t the only one with impressive credentials supporting this initiative. Additionally, this other company appointed Paul Pelosi Jr. as an advisor.

Besides being the son of California Congresswoman, Nancy Pelosi, let’s see what other credentials he has.

About Paul Pelosi Jr.:

“Mr. Pelosi has 16 years of experience in advising emerging and Fortune 500 companies in the areas of finance, infrastructure, sustainability and public policy.”

“Mr. Pelosi is a renowned speaker on environmental policies that encourage individuals and local governments to take a more active role in conserving natural resources and reducing carbon footprints. Mr. Pelosi has spoken at conferences in Stockholm, Milan, and Amsterdam and is a contributor to Inside the Minds: Navigating Green Construction and Energy Initiatives, an anthology which provides an overview of the efforts being made to invest in renewable energy and green infrastructure. Mr. Pelosi is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in History (Cum Laude, 1991) and a JD/MBA (Joint Degree 1995) with an emphasis in International Business. He has been a member of the California State Bar since 1996.”

“Mr. Pelosi serves as Senior Vice President of Business Development at InfoUSA where he is responsible for identifying acquisitions and organizing programs to develop effective strategies for reducing waste and promoting greener practices in the market research industry. Mr. Pelosi advises other companies, including NASA Ames Research Center and AirPatrol Corporation, on a variety of infrastructure projects to promote both sustainable development and security.”

“Mr. Pelosi is a founding member of Cisco Connected Urban Development and, under the direction of Cisco CEO John Chambers, Mr. Pelosi worked with San Francisco, Birmingham, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Lisbon, Madrid and Seoul to attempt to demonstrate how network connectivity might reduce carbon emissions in urban environments.”

“In 2003, Mr. Pelosi was appointed by San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown to the city's Commission on the Environment, which was responsible for developing policies and programs in recycling, toxics reduction, environmental justice, energy efficiency, commute alternatives, climate change, and the city's urban forest. Mr. Pelosi served as President of the Commission.”

Mr. Pelosi , the son of a California Congresswoman, is a specialist on environmental policies and urban development. He was appointed to lead an environmental commission by the mayor of San Francisco, and he’s a California lawyer. Yet here he sits as an advisory board member to a publicly traded company that intends to cultivate marijuana and charge royalty fees to dispensaries for that marijuana, as well as rendering additional services for profit to California dispensaries. Essentially the same thing that QEDN says Emerald will be doing.

Although we don't know if this other company will follow through or be successful, and QEDN / Emerald seem further along than them, the fact that another publicly traded company with board members that have highly reputable credentials in California collectives, politics, business, and law support the business model of growing marijuana and rendering service to dispensaries in California as a for profit provider, completely validates that QEDN and Emerald Med Farms can pursue a similar business model.
