Prior to the Stupp trial we always treated GBM with RT alone. No TMZ. No chemotherapy. AND There was no leukopenias in the patients who recieved RT alone.

The TMZ only increase PFS by a modest 2.5 months. Post-OP RT (old Brain tumor study group trials) shows a significant doubling of survival in these patients.

I get tired of everyone on this board and elsewhere, saying that RT causes the lower WBC count. This simply is not true. IT IS THE TMZ that causes this. If any part of the treatment post-op that might need to be modified to prevent the reduction in WBC counts it is the TMZ not the Radiation. It is important just so that we put these treatments in historical perspective.
