Pentium and Celeron percentage going up because Intel is gaining substantial share at lower end and not because of any upper end slippage.



The notebook mix is claimed to go from 50-60% to 60-70%.
Was there really 10-20% share to gain? I thought Intel already had most of the low-end share anyways.

Furthermore, the article is claiming this:

With demand for ultrabooks and 2-in-1 devices below expectations, while touchscreen notebook sales are also seeing trouble picking up, Intel and Microsoft are now mainly providing subsidies to vendors for inexpensive models.
