I will argue that there are at least, if not more, an equal number of proponents who spout contrarian nonsense. Cries of "To the moon!" and "Just around the corner!" are as prevalent as any detracting comments.

Perhaps this is because of the divisive tactics of a few. One can listen to just so much nonsense before feeling compelled to defend the target of said nonsense.
