One more thing, I grew up in NM. I have plenty of personal experience with arid conditions. When rain does come It can flood the washes and all you have to do is turn a shovel of dirt past the saturated soil to find bone dry dirt.

Water condensing out of the air? Not very much and not very often. Air has to reach its dew point for that to happen. A dew point is the ratio between temperature & humidity where water will condense.

NM isn't nearly as dry as it is in San Luis. Water is even less likely to condense there.

I see from your profile that your living in Virginia. I've been to both Virginia and Yuma within the past month. The difference between the two is night & day.

If you turn a shovel of soil in Virginia you'll find moisture. That's simply not the case in San Luis. Everything is dry.
