Awwww...that's so sad!

Back in March, I wrote about the "Chronic Pain Relief for Children Foundation" both here -- posts 10325 and 10328 -- and in some letters to the IRS and to some appropriate charity regulatory agencies pointing out that the "charity" was clearly a scam trying to con naive consumers into funding Dr. Potatohead's quack clinic.

Well, I don't know if my letters had any effect or whether the site was so obviously bogus it couldn't have fooled even Conrad, but the site has gone "belly up" and is "for sale":

Hurrah

Curiously, only a couple of weeks after I posted and sent my letters, up popped a "gofundme" site:

How embarrassing!

Seriously:

"Please help us give more children a life without horrific, debilitating chronic pain. Donate what you can today!"

Why not just tell the truth:

"An insufficient supply of chronic pain patients stupid enough to pay five grand for quack therapy has brought our clinic to the edge of bankruptcy. We need HELP and need it FAST!"

I'm pleased to see that practically no one has fallen for their pathetic attempt at a con! In four months they raised a whopping $200 and it looks like $150 of that came from calmare co-conspirators.
