You seem to not understand that the short seller was bound by the T+5 rule which is why he was forced to cover at a loss. There is no suck thing as a naked short because the T+5 rule requires all sales to be delivered in 5 days.

So thanks for pointing out why it is impossible to carry a naked short.

Read the article. If NSS were workable, that trader would not need to have covered and would have made a fortune for his firm.
