Based on Google maps satellite images, Yes. There are oil fields to the north and south of the Kreyenhagen Hills. Check it out for yourself. Search Kreyenhagen Hills CA and once your there search oil fields. Chevron North Armer Exploration pops up just north of Kreyenhagen Hills.

I'm no expert just found this interesting and thought some posters here might find it interesting as well.
