Intel is being paid a fortune by Apple to secretly produce the Apple A8 chip using the 14nm process.

I have no problem with that providing:
1) Intel is getting at least 75% gross margin on its wafers
2) Apple agrees to not sell or transfer Intel fabbed devices to
third parties, i.e. can only be sold inside Apple products.

Term 2 is probably not a problem. I won't hold my breath waiting
for Apple to agree to term 1. Apple expects its suppliers to crawl
through broken glass for the privilege of grovelling in its shadow
while it flings pennies at them.
