Agree Rothman it should not be affected. However, fear is fear and I have noticed a correlation with how the major markets, global news events and SIPC sometimes move. Our last dip also coincided with the rest of the world events. Logically, if that is so it was great news on that paticular day Friday, (07/18/14) market s had rebounded. Did you notice SIPC went up after the news post.
