I was cheering for GILD as it climbed.
In a way, it will lift some of other biotech, and .... I think the prospects are very bright for GILD. It may be hard to see on a day Gild does 5% and ENTA a mere 1%, (At a few points in the day they were both up 3%) but when ENTA takes off it does amazing things.... just as when it drops, oh baby, it drops real good. : )

Yes, a bit like IDIX, but *that* was really a raging, moody stock.
Back when I had Vertex stock.... 2007ish....I had a friend who worked in stocks. She told me about a trader who had a cartoon on his wall; a stock trader looking at his computer. The caption; "I'm rich....I'm poor.... I'm rich.... I'm wiped out".... etc.
The IDIX saga was a little like that.

I think their nuke may do OK, just that it is a bit early to say.
Ditto on ACHN. Too many nukes before have failed or merely underwhelmed.

About the time of AASLD things will get very interesting; lots of trial results; new 2nd generation therapies, new approvals and a new dawn in treatments (and prices too!).
Catalysts? Yeah, a few. : )
Just a few months away.

Interesting you mention ENTA being like IDIX. There should be a few catalysts this year yet, that could spawn a higher valuation than 50's share price, and some of the GILD enthusiasm we saw Friday could also visit other HCV drug companies. No matter what, it IS interesting.

Now if Abbvie can just get their 2nd gen phase 2b HCV trials started sometime soon..... now that they got their little inversion thingie done. : )
