I've tinkered with a maple bat.

Hitting some balls with one.

Boy, maple has no sting left in your hands, and hitting a ball feels so solid.

Ash wood, on the other hand, leaves me feeling like the bat is soft, more inclined to indention where ball meets bat.

I wished I could have played organized ball with maple.

As it was, it was ash.
