Because there are so few patients enrolled in each cohort of a dose escalation study, there is the problem of insufficient sample even at the end of the trial: i.e. 10 total cohorts = less than 36 total patients completed dosing across a wide range of cancers. What that means is the chart must show a clear line of increasing indications of efficacy all the while the primary outcome is only to find the MTD.
