I think that the fight is not against "Big Oil". The fight it to get Oil Companies to see that the largest source of DME on this earth right now is Natural Gas.

DME is a bridge fuel. It can help the Oil Companies transition from what they have to a Bio Fuel all with the same Fuel, DME.

It is a win win for Oil.

1) Refine DME from there own NG reserves. It still burns 90 cleaner out of auto no mater where you get it from - Big Oil looks responsible.
2) Develop better ways to refine Bio DME - IE Algae. - Big Oil will again look responsible.
