A lot of people dont really know what a DRIP is. They think its just a reinvestment of dividends for free but its much more. In a DRIP you are buying stock directly from the company without a broker on a monthly basis. One can invest $20 to $20,000 a month! You pay NO brokerage fees other than a one dollar transaction fee as in GE's case. Many other companies that offer DRIP have NO fees at all! This is extremely profitable to long-term investors as you are dollar cost averaging your investment....so whether market is up or down you will do well in the long-term! !
