Tom,

I forgot to mention that the patent shows significant electrical power consumption to make the process work. That queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach went away

That's kinda funny to me.

The initial efforts on OTEC way back when seemed akin to the everlasting efforts to get beyond regularly reported nuclear fusion breakthroughs generating more power than that used.

The problems with OTEC seemed mostly in regard to the usual fouling of equipment by seawater like the early pioneering efforts in geothermal heating efforts I am more familiar with since we got our water in our isolated paradise homestead from the Hallinan Spring just to the right of the diamondback rattlesnake nursery. The pipes were a bonanza for plumbers in institutional settings.

I am delighted you mentioned you had some difficulty with chemistry. I think I only made it through Chemistry I because I discovered you could get half credit for scribbling down anything trying to work out those terrible formulas. Weird advanced math was a breeze compared to that stuff, despite starting a chemistry test with 50% from writing down telephone numbers.

I will take your word the patents show that OTEC all works out fine.

Best, Terry
