Michelle Gahagan: President
Ms. Gahagan has been a director of Suparna Gold Corp. since January 2008 and is currently its President.  Ms. Gahagan is also a director of both Bowood Energy Inc. (TSXV: BWD) and ArPetrol Ltd. (TSXV: RPT), having successfully negotiated the amalgamations of each company with their respective predecessor entities.  Prior to the commencement of her involvement in merchant banking, Ms. Gahagan graduated from Queens University Law School and practiced corporate law for 20 years. Ms. Gahagan has extensive experience advising companies with respect to international tax-driven structures, mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Gahagan has successfully completed the Investment Management Certificate course and is a Qualified Person under the Financial Services Authority (UK) regime.

Garry Clark: Director
Mr Clark is the Executive Director of the Ontario Prospectors Association (OPA).  He has been a Director, Vice President or President of OPA since its formation in the early 1990s.  Mr Clark currently serves on the Minister of Mines Mining Act Advisory Committee (Ontario) and the Ontario Geological Survey Advisory Board.  He graduated with an HBSc (Geology) from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay.  Mr Clark brings to the company extensive experience in managing large scale exploration and development programs internationally including Asia and North America.  In addition to over 30 years of consulting experience, he had held geological positions with a number of mining companies and has served as a director of other TSX Venture Exchange listed companies including his current position with Challenger Deep Resources Corp and Elissa Resources Ltd.

Jamie Newall: Director
Mr Jamie Newall is Investments Director of Intrepid Financial, regarded as one of the leading incubators of natural resource companies. Mr Newall currently sits on the board of American Bonanza Gold Corp (TSXV: BZA) and EShippers Management Ltd (TSXV: EPX) and previously on the board of Skana Capital Corp (until its recent merger with MENA Hydrocarbons TSXV:MNH). From 2007 to 2009 he was a founding director of GPN Capital a FSA authorised fund advisor specialising in junior resource companies. Before 2007 he was board director of BPL Global the award winning broker in trade credit and political risk with particular focus on commodities and emerging markets. During this period Mr Newall was a regular speaker on political risk at major conferences covering government expropriation and all forms of political violence including rebellion, revolution and terrorism. He also advised three of the world's top ten largest companies on their emerging market risks and the best means of financial mitigation. Mr Newall is a graduate of Cambridge University and holds a Masters Degree in Law

Craig Dalziel: Director
Mr Craig Dalziel has been the Cheif Executive Officer and President of Oroco Resource Corp since August 2009.  Mr Dalziel is the Founder of Sunda Mining Corporation and served as its President. He also served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Northern Rand Resources Corp until October 2010.  He has over 25 years of experience in public markets and corporate finance.  Mr Dalziel has been a Director of Northern Rand Resources Corp since November 21 2008, and Oroco Resource Corp since August 2009.

    Project Overview

    In 2011 Suparna Gold Corp. acquired the Sara Creek licence area from Orion Resources. It is a 569 square km licence area located 50km South East of IAMGOLD's Rosebel Mine, and is South West of Newmont's Merian (Nassau) 'near mine' project. There is widespread artisanal mining including 'open pit' and shafts, and have been successful using unsophisticated mining and recovery techniques. Extensive exploration work has already completed (565 auger holes), and there are numerous quartz veins exposed at surface.

  • The Guiana Shield

    The Guiana Shield is one of the three cratons of the South American Plate. It is a 1.7 billion year old Precambrian geological formation in northeast South America that forms a portion of the northern coast.

    The Guiana Shield underlies Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, as well as parts of Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. The rocks of the Guiana Shield consist of metasediments and metavolcanics (greenstones) overlain by quasi-horizontal layers of sandstones, quartzites, shales and conglomerates intruded by sills of younger mafic intrusives such as gabbros.

    The Shield hosts a number of major gold deposits the largest being Las Cristinas in Venezuela; 16.8moz. The second largest is IAMGOLD's Rosebel Mine (13m ounce Au) in Suriname. Newmont is also active in Suriname with their 'Near mine' project at Merian (Nassau); 1.5m ounces Au measured and indidcated.




     Suriname

    Suriname is a democratic republic in South America, bordered by Guyana to the West, French Guiana to the East and Brazil to the South. It is 163,265km2 with a population of 491,000 (of which half reside in the capital Paramaribo). Its major exports are bauxite, gold and timber.

    Formerly a Dutch colony (Dutch Guiana) Suriname was granted independence in 1975 and has been a stable democracy since 1991 with the next elections being held in 2015. Suriname is Dutch speaking and its legal system is based on the Dutch legal system.
