Dollar General currently has over 9,000 stores in the U.S. Already in 35 states it is the nation's largest small box discount retailer with $ 11.8 Billion in sales for 2009 and is still growing rapidly. With a downturn in the economy shoppers are frequenting discount stores more and more.
Dollar General ushered in 2011 saying it would build 650 new stores this year.
