Stock is down 78% from 52 week high of 32.50 a share. Earnings on

Monday morning it could have a run up before earnings.

Conference call and enrollment give little to be bullish about. However the balance sheet, about 7 bucks per share in cash, give me pause. Bought shares last week for a trade. One take away from the call was their ability to reduce costs in step with shrinking revenues, remain cash flow positive. Musical chairs with the Feds and regulators. If they can achieve reasonable settlements and use the cash appropriately you'll get higher prices. My plan is to hopefully scale out of shares above 8 and watch the story slowly develop.

This industry is really starting to heat up! At least on the Canadian side of the border. Let me introduce you to Loyalist Group Limited (US: LGLTF, CAN: LOY).

Loyalist owns and operates private English as a Second Language (ESL) schools across Canada, with a focus on Vancouver and Toronto. They offer ESL for international students, training programs for teaching ESL (TESL), career training courses, and corporate English for professionals. The business plan is to become the premiere consolidator of independent, privately owned and operated schools, in what is considered to be a large and extremely fragmented market. Substantial revenue and cost synergies can be realized quickly, thus making acquisitions highly accretive to earnings. Loyalist is well financed, having successfully completed 2 financings, raising over $15 million the past few months, and has good institutional and high-net worth investor support (billionaire entrepreneur, Seymour Schulich, holds 13,000,000 shares). Loyalist is in a very good position to continue executing its growth strategy given its experienced management team, economies of scale gained over time, and the lack of any other competition in the marketplace.

Loyalist could exit 2013 with a revenue run rate of ~$32.4M, EBITDA of ~$6.6M, cash of ~5M and fully diluted shares of ~132M.

Loyalist could exit 2014 with a revenue run rate of ~$80M, EBITDA of ~$15M, and no need for further dilution.

APOL gained 3.01% on 03/22/11 and a total percentage of 5.10% in the past 2 days
APOL is trading in the range of $40.15 - $46.42 in the past 30 days.
Commodity Channel Index (CCI) is bullish for APOL.
Money Flow Index (MFI) is bullish and moving up for APOL.
APOL formed a bullish Price & Exponential Moving Average Crossover signal.
APOL formed a bullish Price & Simple Moving Average Crossover signal.
The 10-day simple moving average is bearish and moving down for APOL.
Average volume increase over 5% for APOL.

Especially when the news will not be able to refute the statistics compared to traditional schools. Not a play for me... at $36pps... I have had much better results down below $5pps.

UOP is going to be fine, what they are doing now is simply transitioning from a 'enrollment/numbers' focus to a 'quality' focus. The Street doesn't like it, but it will in a few years.

Yeah I know... I have done some raw DD on the owners and these guys have built one hell-of-a business... and still growing!

Another opportunity that should have been much more clear to me years ago.. as I am now paying a combined 86 grand to put my two daughters through ONE year of college.

Of course there are going to be stories like that when you have a few hundred thousand students, lol. But I know many UOP graduates who are doing really well out there. In fact, many of them better than people who graduated from 'traditional' schools.

My Brother works for them down in Georgia and just told the stock took a big dip... yep... down 25%.

He said they are finally getting on board with running the system based more upon "quality" initiatives than purely going for headcount.

Pheonix University was on 20/20 or one of those shows about two months ago where the program had interviewed several staff who stated that management pressured the individuals responsible for the headcount to lie/mislead potential students about what the students would be able to do with their degrees upon graduation. One nursing student said she graduated, was never in a hospital the whole four years while attending the school, and upon graduation, was told by all of the local hospitals that she did not have sufficient credentials to be hired as a nurse. WOW!

She's the only green one out there right now in my watchlist. Apollo is going to be around for a very long time, they are doing the right things and provide a neccessary service in education the 'traditional' schools do not.

I've been watching this stock for a while. Seems like a good long hold.

They sure seem to have a good sized moat.
