Advanced Engine Components Limited researches, develops and commercialises electronic fuel injection and engine management technologies. The Company’s engine component products are aimed at optimising engine performance whilst lowering vehicle emissions.
AEC’s product range currently includes the electronic fuel injected Transcom NGVS for heavy duty engines and the Sprintex Twin Screw Supercharger for automotive applications.
The patented Transcom NGVS is an electronic fuel injection and engine control system that enables both turbocharged and naturally aspirated heavy-duty engines to run efficiently on compressed natural gas.
The Sprintex Supercharger technology is an advanced twin screw air compressor designed to deliver oil free, dry, clean air under pressure to the intake manifold of a wide variety of engines. Forced induction such as provided by the Sprintex Supercharger in vehicles results in improved overall engine efficiency, increased torque at all revolution ranges and improved power, responsiveness and acceleration.
The Federal Government has committed $75 million over the next 4 years to encourage the use of alternative transport fuels. The Alternative Fuel Conversion programme will provide ongoing assistance for the conversion of buses and other commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) to alternative fuels such as Compresses Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) where conversion meets strict environmental conditions. The programme will provide funding for either:
up to a 50% grant to purchasers for the difference, over conventionally fuelled vehicles, in the purchase price of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) alternate fuel vehicles: or
up to 50% grant towards the cost of converting vehicles to alternate fuels such as CNG and LPG.
