Secure Digital Identification Service
Each year, more than 100,000 people die from unnecessary medical errors, making it the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. More than 90% of those errors could have been avoided if the EMT or doctor had quick and easy access to vital information about the patient when first treated.
Code Amber Alertag enables emergency responders to quickly and accurately gather critical patient medical information at the scene of a medical emergency. The information provided will enhance their ability to assess and treat the patient.
How it Works
Code Amber Alertag is a discrete ID tag that fits on a keychain and provides access to vital life-saving information in case of emergency. Emergency personnel are trained to look for emergency medical information when they arrive on the scene. Unfortunately, they rarely find it.
Over 100,000 people die every year from preventable medical errors. That makes this the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. Over 90% of those errors could have been avoided if the EMT or doctor had quick and easy access to vital information about the patient when first treated.
With Code Amber Alertag, medical professionals can access the medical information the wearer chooses to make available, including dangerous allergic reactions, by simply entering the Security Code printed on the tag at IDAmber.com's secure website
How it Works
About one out of every four people has a pre-existing medical condition that can complicate emergency treatments, while 100 million Americans (36% of the population) suffer from chronic conditions. Roughly 220,000 Americans make unplanned visits to emergency rooms each day.
Of these patients, 13,000 suffer life-threatening delays in treatment because critical medical history is lacking about such conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and drug allergies. Code Amber Alertag creates a peace of mind for individuals with ADD/ADHD, allergies, Alzheimer's, anemia, asthma, autism, dementia, diabetes, epileptic seizures, mental impairment, special needs children and more.
The intent of the Code Amber Alertag is to provide first responders to an emergency situation with this critical information, greatly enhancing their ability to appropriately assess and provide treatment– certainly those of us with special needs. Correct assessment and treatment could mean the difference between life and death.
