Here is my thoughts on this stock. I am out and have been out for some time.

Jake & Baiter, where have you gone? There has been a ton of news lately. The split now takes the break even to $6.00 to $8.00 for a lot of people. It'll be a while before that happens. There are a lot of positives to watch with the recent Georgetown and McGill announcements. My impression is they are setting up the network to create a positive cash flow situation through outsourcing. Nothing wrong with that but they still need the big player to attach to them.

baitre, I don't see a reverse split. It would dilute Janets holdings to much. They have Fusion for cash. They don't want to issue new stock at .25 share either. Todays announcement on the Ph I Alzheimers drug will get attention. One thing for sure, it will be easier getting the test subjects lined up for SP-233 and SP-04 that it was for SP-01A. It seems they have good in state support from the University and Ruvo Research Institute as well.

How about the good Dr. Poopah leaving Georgetown after getting his own research clinic? Now he moves to McGill. It must have been a great offer. I hope McGill moves quicker than G.U. did on research.

A lot of news today. AMEX announcement next. I wonder if it matters?

Not sure mine or your opinion on that is of any use. Perhaps you can explain how your opinion on LIV is relevant.

Generally speaking to be delisted is a negative. I am sad for those who are still invested as well as those who opporate within LIV. If more shares are issued or there is a reverse split in a public company losses are taken. People who can benefit at others losses are not always criminals though.

How do you think a delisting will impact the company's focus/vision/ability to produce for the market?

Hey baitre, I think people are expecting the outcome of 2b in the next few months. Contrary to posts on other boards. The buy blocks have been much bigger than sells. Write and let me know what is going on. I have been writing privately here to avoid the peanut gallery.

I'm not one to fish in Ak past October 10th in recent years.

I've been in Sweden visiting relatives and just returned to Oregon. Good advice though.

I noted the price has made a slight upward move in recent times. Not sure why. I have almost no shares left though. I did loose some assets getting out but wanted to "be somewhere else"..

WASHINGTON – Antipsychotic drugs that are widely used to calm agitated patients with Alzheimer's disease help very few of them, and those modest benefits are canceled out by the frequent side effects, a comprehensive government-funded study has found.

The surprising finding is expected to trigger a broad re-evaluation of the widespread use of the drugs in patients with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. As many as one in four Alzheimer's patients in nursing homes are prescribed the powerful drugs, even though they never have been formally approved for this purpose.

“I wish I could say the odds are better,” said Thomas Insel, director of the National Institute of Mental Health, which funded the $17 million study. “This paper says most people are not going to be any different on these drugs than they would on placebo.”
The researchers did not conclude that the drugs should never be used, and a minority of patients do benefit. The study suggests that doctors would be well advised to prescribe the drugs sparingly and as a last resort, experts said.

The study is the latest to produce sobering data on the newer, expensive antipsychotics such as Zyprexa, Risperdal and Seroquel, which are among the most widely prescribed drugs in the United States, at an annual cost of about $10 billion. Another government-funded study recently showed that the drugs were no better than an older and much less-expensive drug called perphenazine in the treatment of schizophrenia.

Taken together, the government-sponsored clinical trials have highlighted two troublesome issues in the regulation and use of psychiatric medications in the United States.

The schizophrenia study showed that the short-term trials that pharmaceutical companies sponsor to gain Food and Drug Administration approval have limited value in telling doctors how patients will fare overall, or whether newer drugs are worth their higher cost.

The Alzheimer's study has revealed a different problem – the extent to which physicians are prescribing and using medications in the absence of empirical data to guide them. None of the antipsychotic drugs is approved for Alzheimer's disease, and several short-term, industry-sponsored clinical trials have failed to show a benefit. The FDA has required prominent “black box” warnings on the drugs' labels about side effects in elderly people, such as strokes and death.

“Clearly the drugs cannot be cost-effective, because there is nothing to choose between drugs and placebo,” said Lon Schneider, the lead author of the new study published today in the New England Journal of Medicine. “Most patients are not benefiting.”

Insel, Schneider and Jason Karlawish, an Alzheimer's expert at the University of Pennsylvania who wrote a commentary about the new study, said it also underscores the desperate need to develop better treatments for Alzheimer's patients who are agitated or psychotic.

Hey ehddiej. I think you have an ability for mixing a general comment with a negative opinion of LIV to effect a negative spin/distraction.

If this forum wasn't so quiet I'd have bothered to delete the post. (Wait there is more. I did delete it. What a horrible thing to do.)

I know you have strong opinions as do others about LIV. Some are in and out trying to get a profit, others ignore the stock, while others are long and strong.

If you don't like or trust LIV's management or business plan and want to explain the details I'm all for it.

This forum is so quiet though. Why post anything more than a couple of thoughts? Good logic! Nothing worse than posting a well thought out post and having no reply.

Have you yet called and spoken with the LIV office? That would make for an interesting post. Can't imagine why not. It could at least help in your getting into LIV again for another spike.

Horrible news? Just in time for halloween? What about some negative news? OK that's it. I think you can handle having a post deleted. I'm doing it for your use of the word horrible versus the word negative. This is one stock not a terrorist attack. I'll send you flowers and a public appology if some horrible news coems out of LIV's offices. (Maybe you have listened to the CNBC Krammer Show too often? I think he'd be sure to call LIV horrible.)

As for my fishing? Short of a few past events in the 1900's "these are the good ol' days".

Although fuel prices are effecting the bottom line the market prices for halibut have doubled over the last 6 years. As have the black cod prices.

Hope to be able to look into LIV goings on by next week. It's not the only investment I have though. Not one I spend too much time with as "Hey" it's a risk venture FDA related story stock. I've done my DD and I'm in with what I have for the long run. Spikes in price have given me my free shares so no worries.

No comments anywhere about the licensing buy-back on Anticort or the slogan issue. The silence on the Yahoo! board is eerie. LIV Web site was down for two days Friday and Saturday. I'm guessing that the domain registration payment was late/forgotten and the domain managers shut the URL down. Site came back up last night, though.

Lots of bulk AH selling (although a couple of large buys AH as well) -- VERY odd to me....not sure if this is something that happens everywhere and I just never noticed or what. Any insight?

ehddiej... I was trying to review my last post while out on the last two day trip. I think I could have been more accurate to borrow the term "no spin zone" to my last post.

Speaking of spin. I think that all that energy on the Y board isn't just about stopping a company from scamming people out of their money. There just isn't that much altruistic passion in an investors time schedule.

I try to ad "I think" or "my opinion is" to most of my posts. In repeating what I hear from a IR person I include my repeating something from a conversation. Simple stuff but critical to keep from selling an opinion as a fact.

My weakness is making a personal attack... "I think". It's what I used to do on the RB because I wanted to devalue the nonsense there. I think it worked. I don't want to make any personal attacks here. Let me know if the following comes across as such.

I am leary to try and be a go between with your questions and the LIV IR. I've known where such activities have given destructive forces a leverage to spin on a forum. I am willing to accept your unwillingness to contact the LIV offices but I have a reaction which I call being careful.

I understand it as an intent and not an aquisition. Would be interested in a little more about the response from the "street" being odd. I look at LIV as being off the charts of the street. I think the alley might apply here. As for odd I think that needs clairity too.

I just don't think there is much to make noise about on this announcement. I'd believe that as an investor or as a non investor of LIV.

I'd think it is bargain bin shopping off the radars of big pharmas on LIV's part.

It's my total blind guess that there is some simular science or theory being observed.

It's good of you to take an intrest in this stock. I do think though that a brief statement using your opinions with no follow up could be taken as an intimidation.

Even if taking about something trivial an opinion can cause conflict.

I see two wrongs here.

Ehddiej, Very aware of the letter of intent to aquire this, I assume ex-company for the rights to the cancer drug. Just a letter of intent, not an aquisition. I will call next week to see what there thinking is on this. Most posts on the other board are in my opinion, not pointing out anyone, is to pull the price of this stock down. Being invested in this company And having family and friends vested in this stock I grow weary of suggestive posting, steering in one direction when there is many possible reasons. I will call for answers as I know most on the other board can't or won't.

Jake, why do you consider that "squirming"? What "quandrary" do you speak of?

Personally, I find it VERY unusual that the Yahoo board went from literally multiple dozens of posts to absolutely zero posts for MULTIPLE trading days. Buy orders have also slowed down considerably...

Spooky is what it is....won't you admit that the abrupt lack of messages after the latest PR move would certainly be cause for speculation?

Good questions ehddiej. I hope someone has time to inquire. Especially if it was you who made the contact.. (Just seems like a better idea to me still.)

I'm too tied up in day to day work to get very in depth with a deeper look at LIV. I think Jake11 sums it up well as to the risks and hopes of a LIV investment.

I also think of several odd ideas and skippers in various fisheries. A little of the right kind of crazy can be good for a business I think.

Sorry I don't have much to contribute here this time of year.

Thanks for the compliment (I think?) I wouldn't consider myself a negative thinker, more pragmatic and cynical than most to be sure...

One question that immediately begs asking is "why did LIV wait two years to PR the pre-clin data for their cholesterol candidate?" I admittedly didn't research the archives to see whether this is a repeat release, but it seems odd to sit on that news, especially considering that it pre-dates the Phase II study results. Seems like momentum could have been developed a lot sooner.

The other question that I'm curious about is "how do they plan on completing an IND submission based on only one pre-clin study within 30 days?

Lastly, I'm curious as to what niche in the market they are trying to reach with this cholesterol candidate -- the market has numerous products in very late stage development that already show great results with minimum risk. LIV's drug is a minimum three years away. How do they prove to the street that their product is:

(a) Effective enough to bring to term, be it a partnership or an II investing in LIV
(b) Going to bring any return on investment

Here's a few questions that immediately come to mind. I'd be curious to find out what answers they provide.

As I spoke to the company two days ago and as you would know they can not give any details but inferred that it was very good news. As far as overseas trading in my opinion they are taking advantage of a upstart company that can be manipulated more readily. Lets hope this collaberation with a big pharma is sooner than later. You keep referencing Greeson in many posts. I do not know if she is the best. Dedicated,yes ...hardworking yes, To change at this point in the game would not be prudent. They accomplish much on a small staff. Which they said they are in the process of hiring more. What I am saying in too many words is I feel it is a moot point to change at this juncture in time. It is still a speculative venture to invest. I think the chances are good. If they strike a deal with a big dog. The money will be there. If not then more dilution.

Jake, you're certainly welcome to attempt to predict my job, but it isn't really germane to the discussion of LIV, now is it? I believe the goal of this board is to discuss the goods and bads of the company, not to play "What's My Line", but...

For the record, I'm not a computer programmer. I've never written a line of computer code in my life. I assume that the post on the Yahoo board "calling" me a computer programmer were to somehow create a link/analogy to Jim Grace.

Your comments re Jim Grace's behavior at the LIV offices WERE quite funny. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall...

I've read of the large stock shorts in a couple of places. I haven't personally done any research, but I AM surprised at the large reported quantity of the short. The float on this stock has been very high since Greeson took over, and the movement hasn't been more than a few cents for the last couple of years (excepting the "anomaly" rise in price at the same time that the directors' options expired). Perhaps someone knows something negative is up. Only a couple of things come to mind re negative:

(a) Phase II results will be published soon
(b) Judiciary proceedings

These are both pure speculations on my part, but nothing else is due for a while for investors to predict a bad outcome.

I would stay with this stock, as you have waited this long. I have held for four years. A speculative stock ,yes... a scam NO....It is at best a few years away from a drug to market. This all takes time to go through this process. With the change a few years back to a retroviral set the fda process back a step. But things are moving along. I spoke to them this week. Expect good things to be made public this year. Call the company. They are glad to answer your questions. You are not alone on being long... most holders are long with this stock and do not even look at places like yahoo board.

I have been a stockholder since 1998. I'm not in the business and do not know anyone associated with biotech industries. I purchased this on the advice of someone who convinced me he had insider information and this company was going to take off soon. That was 8 years ago. I've spend time on the Yahoo boards, not participating, just reading, and quite frankly I'm unsure and unsettled about the issues being debated. Obviously, I've been involved with LIV for the long term or I could have dumped this stock awhile back, but something has told me to just hang on...something will happen. I only have about 1200 shares of stock so not a huge investment if this stock should go south, but I would really like to see a significant increase in the stock value for me to continue holding or buying additional stock to add to my portfolio.

Ehddiej I believe you are a computer programmer in a tech field. I am sure you know your business well and perhaps see much data that is in relation to biotech. After I graduated from college I also went back for computer programming. Perhaps it would be a good idea if you could get in touch with the company. I.e. one of the scientists. Dr. Saldi or popadopulus. Then we would have answers more concrete than educated guesses. If you would like post some questions and I will call to see what answers I can get. fyi, there has been shorting on this company, 1.5 million shares went overseas last week. On a lighter note I asked if they still have problems with Jim. He showed up at there office last week asking for Gene, he was there, jim left the office before Gene could greet him.

OT: I'm posting a quick bye for now as I'm off to "match wits" with the cod & halibut until the 12th or so.

I think it would be great if ehddiej would contact the LIV offices to explore some of the gray areas. It sounds like he could ask some very challenging questions. If ehddiej doesn't want to make contact I suppose that means for some reason it is not a good idea to do so. Let's move on keeping in mind that even as a group we don't seem to know the future of LIV.

Also, this form of communication is not very ideal. Face it, we can not look each other in the eye or hear the tone of voice as we post our strings of words.

I have made the mistake of imagining myself eye to eye with fellow posters whom I am not "posting" eye to eye with. I found it was easy to see red after I assumed I understood the meaning of the words I'd read.

If one has a theory about someone that is not flattering should one post it in an effort to achieve a higher understanding? Sounds like a way to realize war.

It appears to me the ehddiej works in a technical capacity, either an engineer or scientist or lab rat, something on that order and believes in Murphey's Law. I find it difficult to argue against anything she? he? has to say. In my opinion, there is intelligent insight behind the messages.

If it weren't for Georgetown Univ I wouldn't have put a dime in this venture. The bottom line with LIV is they are operations people with a product that if successful portends great rewards. They rely on outsourcing and third party resources. They only hold the key. If we had more info on just what G.U. is doing at their end on the research we could probably make better decisions. I have tried to find some info on Samaritan through the G.U. web site and foundations but came up blank. $1,000,000.00 does not get much at G.U. other than a couple hundred sq ft of lab space, a couple of research grad students and a few rats to fry.

Speaking of rats...has Samaritan sold any yet?

What do you have against this company. You go out of your way to find the negative in any post. What did they do to you EHEDDIej. Of course it will take time, we all know this. You go out of your way to make yourself look like the only person who has a clue as to what is really happening. You do not own this stock and you have never called the company. I spoke to them today, answering all my questions. Do expect some significant news this year. They could have been bought out years ago. No disrespect Eddie but my opinion is this company is moving closer everyday. No timelines eddie. You are here for a reason, what it is you only know.
