Murchison United NL is an Australian-based no liability company whose principal activity is minerals exploration. The broader strategy of Murchison, apart from its existing assets, is to focus on energy related assets. Shares in the company are listed on both the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX - MUR) and the Alternative Investment Market (AIM - MUU) of the London Stock Exchange. Company Projects Murchison is currently reviewing existing assets and investigating resource opportunities in Australia and internationally to assess their appropriateness for the Company. Millenium Leases, Queensland Australia The company owned Millenium leases are located some 35 kilometres west-north-west of Cloncurry in Queensland, Australia. The leases cover an area of approximately 3.5 kilometres long and 500 metres wide. The leased area has old workings (early 1900’s), exploration costeans and drill pad sites which were directed to the exploitation of copper ore. Murchison has received the contract geologist's report, which showed promising levels of both copper and cobalt. The recommendations of the report are currently being considered along with the appropriateness of the project in relation to the objectives of the company and in light of the presence of established treatment facilities in the Cloncurry area. Uranium exploration in West Africa The company has been granted six Uranium exploration licences in the Republic of Guinea. The company has also been granted two Uranium exploration licences in the Republic of Mauritania and is waiting for the outcome of a further four licence applications currently being processed. Other Consistent with the focus on energy assets Murchison is currently considering other energy related opportunities. Discussions to date are preliminary and non-binding.
