Explosive Growth in the National Debt

Last week the Obama administration quietly released updated projections on the budget deficit and the national debt for the next 10 years. These White House calculations show that the federal government will run budget deficits totaling $9 trillion over the next 10 years, and that’s in addition to the $1.6 trillion budget deficit for 2009. The news media actually did a pretty good job of covering this story, but they failed to adequately portray how these budget deficits will affect the national debt.

Quite simply, when our government runs a budget deficit in a given year, the government has to borrow an amount equal to the deficit in order to fund the budget shortfall for that year. That’s what causes our national debt to keep growing. The frightening thing about President Obama’s projected budget deficits is how much they will add to the national debt over the next 10 years.

To put it in perspective, consider these facts. When President Obama was sworn in on January 20, 2009, the national debt totaled $10.6 trillion, a figure that was already unacceptably high. But by the end of Obama’s first term, the national debt is projected to be approximately $17 trillion. By the end of his second term, the national debt is projected to soar to approximately $24 trillion. And these are using the administration’s own projections, which many experts believe are overly optimistic.

We are rapidly approaching the point where the interest on the national debt will be the largest component of the federal budget…larger than defense, larger than Social Security, and larger than Medicare. We simply can’t imagine the economic disasters that await us if this trend isn’t reversed.

It’s imperative that we let our elected officials know how we feel about the federal government’s reckless borrowing and spending that is destroying the very foundation of our economy and our nation. Please contact your Congressman and Senators and tell them you are opposed to the explosive growth in our national debt.

Hey Balls, long time no see. Hope all is well. Im afraid too many are going to vote the other way. Too many folks have been bought off by the dependency state. I think we are outnumbered unfortunately.
Got a good one for ya. To tell you how dumb I am I bought a stock over a year ago that invests in the Marcellus Shale region gas properties(symbol ECT). Pays a nice divvy and Im doing ok so far. But I didnt pay too close attention when I bought and lo and behold , it turns out Mr Ulrich is the trustee. Just my luck right? Hope it ends better there.

Here is just One of the New Taxes you will have to pay under Obamacare:

A 3.8% surtax on "investment income" when your adjusted gross income is more than $200,000 ($250,000 for joint-filers).

What is a surtax ?

Surtaxes are additional taxes that are assessed on assets that have already been taxed.

What is "investment income" ?

Dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, house sales, partnerships, etc.

If Congress extends the Bush tax cuts, taxes on “investment income” will rise from 15% to 18.8% .

If Congress does not extend the Bush tax cuts, taxes on “investment income” will rise from 15% to a choking 43.8% .

Is it showing them valued at the last trade price for MOSH? A lot of times that happens - the quote system still picks up the last trade price instead of a zero. I have that on a number of no longer trading stocks at various brokers.

That sounds bogus to me. If that was true then Atrade would be in the same boat.

Rep at Scottrade said the issue is at DTC. DTC is checking the dots on the "i"s and the crosses on the "t"s. Said they should have the issue resolved this week. Said that the DTC and/or Scottrade gives a closer look to pennies than other stocks.

No reason to sue the trustee.......

The trustee did exactly what it said it would do.

The distribution stayed with the shares. When you sold them the distribution went with them.

There is no Ex-dividend date for this kind of distribution.

Have you called Scottrade and asked why not? Atrade has had the money in my account for days.

Fidelity just took back my money. Looks like those that sold after 2/22 really won't get anything. You must have the shares in your account to get the distribution. So much for misleading information from the Trustee! Somebody ought to sue them!!!!
