With a history grounded in research and development of products (funded by over $150mm in government research grants, generating over 150 patents) that secure our nation's most valuable assets. In 2010, Irvine Sensors made the conscious decision to devote our years of research and development in the security arena on a singular focus; delivering the most comprehensive security solutions available. Bringing to the global market next-generation threat protection previously reserved for national security initiatives.
We understand the user can be the biggest threat or the greatest asset in security
and our new brand, ISC8 is based on that concept. The eighth layer is referred to
in the industry as the people or user layer, an extension of the 7 layer Open Systems
Interconnection (OSI) model and deals with people and policies. ISC8 is focused
on the 8th layer and keeping you secure.

ISC8 delivers Enterprise Threat Management via multiple hardware, software and cloud-based product and service offerings leveraging its patents in anti-tamper, high-speed processors, miniaturized sensors, and 3D stacked chip assemblies. The company's other division, ISC, manufactures and sells thermal imaging systems for current U.S. Military force platforms.

In accordance with the financing, ISC8, Inc. (formerly Irvine-Sensors) announced several key executive appointments: Seth Hamot, the managing member of Roark, Rearden & Hamot, general partner of Costa Brava Partnership III, L.P., will serve as ISC8's new chairman of the board. Chet White will also serve on the company's board, as is currently the managing partner of The Griffin Fund, the other institutional investor in the financing. ISC8 also elected Bill Joll to serve as its new president and CEO. Joll, former president of Velocitude, recently sold to Akamai, and of On2 Technologies, a Google acquisition, will also join ISC8's board of directors. John Carson, a founder of ISC8 (formerly Irvine Sensors), will serve as vice-chairman of the board and chief strategist. Also joining the board is Marcus Williams, former vice president for Business Development at IT solutions company TechTeam Global Inc.; Jay Scollins, CFO at Roark, Rearden & Hamot Capital Management, LLC.; and Scott Reed, a principal of The Griffin Fund. Hamot said he will work with Joll and Carson to lead ISC8 in a new direction.
