CoroWare's logo, a registered trademark, displays a large "C" with sweeping ends symbolizing the forward motion that encompasses the industries from which the CoroWare brand originated. "

Our Path

The Beginning


CoroWare was founded by David Hyams and Lloyd Spencer. The CoroWare name was chosen because it represents the Company’s original vision of developing and marketing computer and robotics software and hardware solutions and products.


Our company joined the Technology Collaborative of Pittsburgh, PA.


CoroWare became a subsidiary of the public corporation Innova Holdings, later named Innova Robotics & Autom



CoroBot, the robotics division of CoroWare released the CoroBot robot – a four wheeled platform that has an on board mini-ITX computer and an optional 4 DOF arm.

Coroware announces ROS upgrade path for all CoroBots

Brian Gerkey: “When we started building ROS four years ago, we hoped to one day see companies shipping products with ROS inside. It’s great to see that ROS is helping CoroWare to provide affordable and open mobile robot platforms that robot scientists need for prototyping robotics applications.”


CoroBot, the Robotics Division of CoroWare, Inc. released CoroBot Jr.


CoroWare Robotics Solutions is launched as a wholly owned subsidiary of CoroWare, Inc.


CoroWare develops robots that will innovate the way educators teach, students learn, researchers study and hobbyists create. We also innovate and deliver high value business solutions for customers in multiple industries. We are proud to work with partners such as Microsoft, the University of Nebraska, Texas A & M Agriculture, and Georgia Tech. In February 2015, the Company announced the release of The CoroBot Spark.

Lloyd is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CoroWare, responsible for managing the company, formulating and executing long-term strategies, and interacting with clients, employees, investors and other stakeholders. He has over 30 years of experience in the computer and networking industries in engineering, product marketing, business development, and sales management. His expertise spans a spectrum of service provider industries and technologies, including distributed network computing and embedded systems development. Previously, Lloyd served as Solutions Unit Manager at Microsoft; Assistant Vice President and Business Unit Manager at Newbridge Networks (acquired by Alcatel-Lucent); and Product Line Manager at Sun Microsystems (acquired by Oracle Corporation).

Chief Technology Officer

David is Chief Technology Officer of CoroWare, responsible for all aspects of developing and incorporating technology and innovation into CoroWare's businesses, and developing guidelines for the Company's approach to collaboration with external partners on technology and innovation. Additionally, he is responsible for the framework under which research and development projects get executed, defining criteria by which management decides whether to source technology internally or externally. He has more than 25 years' experience in the computer and networking industries, including AT&T Wireless and Applied Microsystems.

Robotics Engineer

He received his Bachelors in Engineering from Arizona State University’s School of Technology. In addition to his studies involving robotics, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering he was the founding president of the school’s robotics club, The Rossum Rumblers, which competed in underwater vehicle competitions as well as educating others about the field of robotics. In being part of the CoroWare Robotics division he is involved with mechanical and electrical design.
