IDSM’s MARKET ADVANTAGE vS. COMPETITORS
Industrial Minerals’ advantage over its competitors is the fact that the mesh size is much lower, and very importantly, possesses the tonnage to satisfy its clients for decades. Larger flake sizes sell at a higher price than do the smaller flakes. The lower the number associated with mesh size, the larger the flake. The world ran out of tonnage of mesh size lower than 30 about twenty years ago due to depletion. There are now only three or four graphite mines remaining worldwide that can produce tonnage in the 30-50 mesh categories.
The vast majority of graphite tonnage produced in the world today is between 40 and 100 mesh. Seventy percent of Industrial Minerals known graphitic resources are lower than 50 mesh, with large tonnage available at 12-30 mesh. There is no other producing country or competitor which such high-class resources.
